McKinsey graphics: an everyday workplace gains its own character.

A different setting for the everyday break

For McKinsey’s offices in Syntagma, Athens, we designed environmental graphics for the kitchen and shared break area, within the architectural project by Plus Minus. The work gives this part of the office a visual character of its own, through compositions that relate to its walls, openings and columns.

New York as a starting point

New York provides the project’s visual theme. Illustrated streets and building façades appear alongside large lettering and vivid areas of colour. Some surfaces read as a broad city scene; others bring a drawing or typographic detail closer to the viewer.

Compositions shaped by the surfaces

The graphics continue around corners and across different architectural elements. Dark backgrounds and light linework connect the city imagery with illustrations of food and kitchen ingredients. Their arrangement responds to the shape of each surface rather than repeating one image at the same size throughout the room.

Graphics in dialogue with the architecture

The photographs show how these applications sit beside seating, shared tables and the games area. The project concerns environmental graphics for the interior, with the architectural design credited to Plus Minus. It offers a concrete example of how graphic design can give a shared area of a workplace its own atmosphere.
