The building, which is located in the center of Athens and hosts the Philosofia Athens Suites complex, has the privilege of being located at the intersection of Stadiou and Pesmatzoglou Streets, with the result that its two free faces have an unobstructed view of two emblematic buildings-monuments. The first is the Old Stock Exchange on Pesmatzoglou Street, a building of the 19th century and a symbol of the economic development of modern Greece. The building itself was designed and built in the early 1970s by Spyros Staikos, the architect of the Hilton Hotel and a supporter of classical modernism. Mamaproject that designed and built the complex was inspired by the story that occupies the point in the dense urban fabric of the commercial triangle of the city and so we gave the specific name which is a modern reference to the Athenian district where it is located, the Academy. The logotype enclosing all the above references is simple, austere but at the same time imposing and majestic. The symbol is designed in such a way that it secretly contains all the letters of the word Philosofia and at the same time symbolizes the Greek letter “Φ”, the first letter of the word Philosophy. The golden color was selected for the corporate identity as a tribute to the history and for betraying prestige in the luxurious character of the apartments. The font used in the typographic design has all the elements we were looking for. Simplicity, postmodern style, uniqueness, and prestige without sophisticated elements.
Our philosophy was for each suite to have a unique character and design approach, while the goal was to create a simple, luxurious, and at the same time warm and welcoming space. The suites were characterized by the names of the most famous Greek philosophers, creating the connection with the name, the location, and the love that Greek & foreign visitors have for Athens and its culture.
